Leadership Advance at Mosaic

Leaders don’t retreat, we advance! Twice a year we have a “Leadership Advance” for our leaders at Mosaic. Every time, we leave inspired, equipped, and excited for all that God is doing in our community and desires to do in our city. Some of the highlights from this year’s version included:

500+ leaders from our volunteer staff along with some going through the volunteer staff process (for the full process go to http://www.mosaic.org/faq).

Training from Erwin to start book clubs and conversations to connect people to Christ through the intrinsic needs to believe, belong, and become (http://www.myspace.com/soulcravings). Next week in our gatherings across SoCal we are giving free copies of Soul Cravings to all first time guests who are looking to know more about a relationship with God.

Conversations with our remarkable leaders from Inland, Pasadena, Downtown, and West L.A.. We have amazing people who lead with power and selflessness.

“Name that Cravings” game. Showing clips from movies like Ocean’s 11, The Incredibles, The Village, among others, the contestants attempted to guess which craving was shown in the clip.

Small group discussion focused on learning to help connect people who are genuinely searching for God.

Celebrating the Lord’s Supper with Ralph Neighbour challenging us “to remember those who are thirsty” as we took the cup and “to remember those who are hungry” as we ate the bread. Beautiful.

Commissioning two women who are moving across the globe and commissioning 40 new staff. For one beautiful account of this moment, go to Lori’s site.

Our awards ceremony included seeing those who serve so faithfully acknowledged for their efforts. Several cried from shock and gratitude with a few acceptance speeches. It’s always fun to thank those who serve without wanting or needing a “thank you.” They all deserved it!
