Finding Sweet Success in Loving Our Neighbors
Mosaic leadership team member engages diversity with humor and honesty

“Eric tackles one of the most critical and complex issues of our time and brings it down to earth and keeps us grounded in reality. It’s quite a gift to force us to face such uncomfortable and serious issues and at the same time to keep us laughing. Thank you, Eric, for awakening in us a love that knows no boundaries.”
—Erwin Raphael McManus
Grand Rapids, Mich., May 7, 2007 – Keeping relevant and responsive to the growing cultural diversity in America is one of the greatest obstacles today’s church faces. In Peppermint-Filled Piñatas author Eric Michael Bryant shows how engaging other people is only as difficult as you make it.

“My desire is to live a life that embraces the people Christians love to hate. I want to gain influence among those who look different, act differently, live differently and believe differently. I want to overcome the Christian stereotype with love.”

A leadership team member at Mosaic Church in Los Angeles, Bryant is at the heart of a loving, diverse community. He shares stories and insights from his own successes and failures, the experiences of others and the life and teachings of Jesus to show how to move beyond ethnic, racial, cultural and ideological barriers toward genuine friendship with others. Bryant uses his lighthearted humor to inspire people to engage the increasingly diverse world around us.

Sometimes building these relationships takes bounce houses, stand-up comedy or even piñatas. Everything begins with a hello, and Bryant shares how to start the conversation. Readers will discover how to resolve conflict, create a better future, develop diverse communities and enjoy our diverse world.

“Jesus wants our lives to be transformed so that we actually care for those around us and so that the love we share for each other bubbles over in the lives of those not yet following Christ,” Bryant says.
