What a great trip this past weekend! I had so much fun connecting with friends in Seattle. After living there for 4 years (1994-1998) helping to plant a church, I was especially excited and amazed by the work of Gary Irby. The Irbys have been like family to us since our days in Seattle. After we left Seattle to volunteer at Mosaic in L.A., Gary became the Church Planting Strategist for the Puget Sound Baptist Association. Over the last 10 years, Seattle Church Planting has catalyzed 70 church plants!
Some of these church plants I had a chance to visit included: Harbour Pointe with Jason Brinker, Discovery West with Jon Fredericks and Rob Weidemann, and Mosaic Seattle with Barry and Robin Odom. It was so great to see and spend time with these communities and leaders.
Some other highlights included interacting with some really sharp leaders at our Yelo event, seeing the old Anchor building which is now the offices for Mars Hill with Mark Driscoll, and speaking and signing books at the Alderwood Barnes and Noble.
What an honor to be back serving in Seattle!
