Did you know that until 1967 it was illegal for a white person and a black person to get married in Virginia?
Did you know that Bob Jones University, a Christian school banned interracial dating up until the year 2000?
Did you know that more and more interracial relationships are becoming more and more common? What was once illegal or taboo is now quite common. In 1970, only 2% of all relationships included an interracial couple. In 2005, 7% of all marriages included a couple from different ethnicities.
As a result, we are in a world where relationships are not only more and more increasingly diverse, but people themselves are a mix of African American, Latino, Asian, and Anglo (sometimes all in one person).
For more interesting info. check out this article.
Why are we so slow to embrace people from other backgrounds? How can we create communities that embrace others no matter what their ethnic backgrounds?
Works for me!
Peace & Blessings

My mother is white and my father is black and I was born in 1964 to legally married parents. I would suggest you get your facts straight or be more specific. Oh, nice name.
Thanks for the comment, Eric Bryant. Is that really your name as well?
I forgot one key word in my interracial blog post… Virginia. Interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia until 1967. Sorry about that and thanks for pointing out my mistake! It has now been corrected.
That is a cool name, by the way! Your middle name isn’t Michael as well, is it?
Blessings,
Eric (Michael Bryant)
