What an incredible time we had on our 3500 mile journey across the southwest! Thanks for your prayers and for those who set aside time to spend time with us!
FAMILY
We had so much fun seeing grandmas, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We have a truly wonderful family! For lots of pictures go here and here. Debbie did a great job on our myspace sites to show some of the visual highlights. Check out Caleb’s jump into Lake L.B.J.!
EL PASO
We had a great time traveling around El Paso for the first time. The way Juarez and El Paso are just across the river from each other is surreal. We had some incredibly delicious Mexican food at Barriga’s. I can’t stop thinking about the rajas con queso and the arrachera steak! We had fun watching Shrek 3 at the movie theater for $2 each. I love theaters like that!
PHOENIX
Scott Savage and the great people at North Phoenix Baptist Church created a workshop and then an event called Peppermint Phoenix. They set us up at a Hilton Resort that was fantastic!
On the way to LA, we ran out of gas on the freeway with a gas station 1 mile away. Miraculously, we coasted all the way to the pump!
In LA that night we booed Barry Bonds as the Dodgers beat the Giants and Barry was unable to tie the record. We felt responsible for slowing down his record chase!
CLEVELAND
My first ever flight to Cleveland ended up leaving 5 hours late! I made it to the event where I was speaking 1 hour late, but I was still able to spend a 1/2 hour with the group there. The next day I was able to meet with 30 people from all over the US who had been serving with Randy Chestnut and Kevin Litchfield with Cleveland Hope.
Nice post! You have said it very well. Keep going
