Bard in the Yard

Having talented, creative, and artistic friends is a big bonus which comes with living in Los Angeles.

Last weekend we had the opportunity to be a part of “Bard in the Yard” which is a group of friends and actors who all seem to be connected to someone from Memphis or Crystal Robbins Czerwinski who get together to read through one of William Shakespeare’s plays.

Everyone in the room had a part except for me and Debbie. It seemed as though they were performing Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale just for us!

We had a fantastic time! In fact, Debbie and I have now asked for a part, albeit the smallest possible, at the next one.

My favorite line comes from Autolycus when he says: “Here come those I have done good to against my will….”

Be sure to check out some of these thespians sometime soon:

Shannon Vaughan Shull (a.k.a. Perdita) at The Lancer, Rick, and Shannon Show on Sept. 28th and 29th in Toluca Lake.

Susan Brindley (a.k.a. Paulina) at Theatre Banshee on Oct. 5th and 6th in Burbank.

Art Oden (a.k.a. Polixenes) at Santasia in Sherman Oaks throughout December.
