Today’s soundtrack for our date day was One Silver Astronaut, our friend Shane Mills from Mosaic. Really good music.
We had an incredible coffee experience today. Yes, I now drink coffee. For the first time in my life, I intentionally poured myself a cup of coffee and enjoyed it. I think not sleeping on the all-night flight to Charlotte last week along with the discovery of Half and Half helped. I have had a cup of coffee almost every day since then. I feel like Will Ferrell in Kicking and Screaming now! Ironically, Erwin told a story in the message at Mosaic about how I cannot stand coffee, which until last week was entirely true.
Debbie and I enjoyed a wonderful cococunt mocha and raspberry chocolate biscotti at Swork, a new interactive coffee shop in Eagle Rock with Organic, fair trade coffees and teas, ice-blended drinks, and even a play area for toddlers.
Afterwards we saw Dan in Real Life with Steve Carell, Dane Cook. and Juliette Binoche. We really enjoyed this movie about an advice columnist who helped others with their relationships but seemed to need to listen to his own advice. Some of the better lines included:
“Life is full of disappointments – sometimes big and sometimes bigger.” – Dan to his 4th grade daughter and her 2 cousins
“You know that if you could be with that person you could become the best version of yourself you could be.” – Dan
“Love is not a feeling. It’s an ability.” – Dan’s 15 year old daughter Kara’s boyfriend
“You are a murderer of love!” – Kara to her Dad Dan when he sent her boyfriend away
When we got home I downloaded “Let My Love Open the Door” and “Take a Chance” by Abba.
Can you go back and remove and previous comments from me, including this one, they’re all showing up under google (which isn’t good for my security here). In the future I’ll post under an alias.
