Today Erwin and I had a chance to spend the day with some remarkable people at Break Forth here in Edmonton, Canada. It is dang cold here too: -10 degrees and falling!
After 4 sessions with Q & A about leadership, diversity, relevance, community, along with other topics with about 300 leaders from all over Canada (and some from the U.S.), Erwin spoke to the crowd of 7,000 people. It was a powerful message about finding beauty in our world and discovering God through our soul cravings.
Some thoughts from the Q & A time:
I Chronicles 11 – “We should look for leaders willing to do good for the whole. The warriors who win should become the commanders rather than the most educated being placed in charge.” – Erwin
“Movements die when creativity stalls.” – Leonard Buhler of Power to Change (Leonard bought and distributed 30,000 copies of Erwin’s book Soul Cravings all over Canadian colleges leading to many significant conversations!)
“The church doesn’t lack innovators. Just consider our children’s natural desire to create. Unfortunately, the church has been against innovation.” – Erwin
“We should live by faith, be known by love, and become a voice of hope.” – Erwin
We shared about the importance of developing authentic relationships with those around us, organizing innovation, our staff process, core values, core convictions, and other frequently asked questions.
It was a real privilege to spend the day with these leaders!
enjoy the cold weather.
sounds like a great time and a great talk, wish i could’ve been there.

What a powerful statement!!!
I’ve always been a firm believer in imagination and creativity being the very components of the human soul that draws us closer to God. After all, if we were created in the image and likeness of God, and God being the great creative artist that He is, it’s only natural that, when we exercise creativity, we get glimpses of Him.
My mom always told me that creative writing wouldn’t get me anywhere and it wasn’t practical enough. Now she’s one of my biggest supporters.
Thanks for you continued efforts to increase innovation in our current age.
