Neil Nakamoto and I just returned from an amazing trip to the Philippines with our friends from South City Church. We had a fantastic time getting to the pastors, elders, life group leaders, and the people who make up this community. We had a chance to speak a few times, brainstorm a lot, and eat even more! They are doing great things in and around Manila!
Here are a few of our highlights:
SOUTH CITY PASTORS AND ELDERS
(notice how many bald guys are in this picture)
MANNY, BHEBO, ME, AND NEIL AT TAAL LAKE
TAAL LAKE (a volcano within a volcano)
SOUTH CITY YOUTH LEADERS
(at Seattle’s Best Coffee in Manila)
SPEAKING AT SOUTH CITY
(I promise they are laughing WITH me not AT me).

Watch me eat Balut (as seen on Survivor so not for the squeamish)
BACK IN LA, FILIPINO FOOD WITH MY FAMILY
You are a brave man eating balut… even my dad who is from the Philippines won’t eat it 🙂 Stick to the lumpia! Mmmm, Filipino party food is the best!
Hey Eric!
Awesome that you guys checked out Jollibee in LA.So does the chicken taste the same? 🙂
Hi Eric!
I first heard about your trip to the Philippines from a podcast on Mosaic’s site.
I have a group of folks also from the Philippines uber excited about leadership training, actually one of leaders are here in the States now, who’d like to do something similar.
How do I find out more about what you guys are doing and hooking up with like minded people?
Thanks!
