My good friend Joel Vestal and I have known each other since our freshman year in college. (Joel’s roommate that year was Chris Seay, another good friend).
Joel has always been an adventurer. I remember hearing stories of exotic foods he had eaten in Nepal, an ill-fated white water rafting trip in India that led to an amoeba, and receiving a postcard Joel sent to me from Baghdad just after the first Gulf War. I have always thought of Joel as the Indiana Jones of the Mission World.
It is so appropriate that Joel’s new book is called Dangerous Faith!
