Insight from Jane’s Addiction

I read an interesting article about Jane’s Addiction.  I have heard of over them over the years but I am not really familiar with their music.  My iPod has more U2, Cold War Kids, Nirvana, The Fratellis, and Weezer.

For a band that only has 3 studio albums in 24 years, it is remarkable their level of influence, especially since some consider them the band that started the alternative rock genre.

Perry Farrell, the lead singer, was asked about the band’s legacy, and I thought he had an insightful answer for those of us wanting to create a better future:

“If you put too much weight on the past, you’re going to be passed up.”

It appears Farrell is familiar with Clayton Christensen’s book The Innovator’s Dilemma.
