Listening to Global Voices

Check out this fascinating talk from TED on Listening to Global Voices. I found this on Charles Lee’s website. (Thanks, Charles!)

Ethan Zuckerman talks about avoiding “filter bubbles” and “imaginary cosmopolitanism.” “The world is more globalized but our media is less globalized by the day.” As stated on TED’s website:

“Sure, the web connects the globe, but most of us end up hearing mainly from people just like ourselves.”

The future requires “bridge figures” and “xenophiles.”

How can we learn more from people that have important things to say but we aren’t hearing?
