The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Austin!
We have several friends connected to Gateway Church who create products for Dell or Google or Advanced Micro Designs and others who created their own companies or restaurants.
One of my favorite coffee shops is the Irie Bean Coffee Bar on South Lamar (2310 S Lamar, Austin 78704). It is owned and operated by Raf and Erica Robinson. My favorite drink is the Irish Cream Au Lait. 🙂
The Irie Bean is now featuring Carribean food such as Pulled Pork Sliders, Jerk Fish Tacos, Quinoa & Sweet Potato Griddle Cakes, and more! The trailer next to the coffee bar will be opened Thursdays through Sundays from 5-10pm.
Check out this dish from the menu: “Calypso (Jerk) Chicken – Our spin on traditional Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Jerk-seasoned chicken thigh served with a Mango-Habanero BBQ sauce, Island Slaw, and a side of Irie Rice.”
This Saturday night (8/6) is SummerFest, the Big Grand Opening Party to support the Irie Bean’s new Caribbean-inspired food menu from 7-11PM. If you are in Austin, come early for free drinks, giveaways, live music and to try the food. It’s going to be a great time!
