For some reason my iPod on my iPhone plays the podcasts from Mosaic at a faster speed than the norm. At first I tried to fix it until I realized how I could listen to more messages in a shorter amount of time. 🙂
The past couple of days I listened to the series with Erwin McManus called “Self-Mastery.” It was a fantastic series on what it takes to grow spiritually (and why we often don’t grow). Here are some of Erwin’s incredibly helpful insights (and links to the audio messages):
Self-Mastery: Clarity
The people who make it are the ones who remain teachable all their lives.
The danger is that you have the knowledge of God, and not the character of God.
Truth should never travel faster than Love.
The limitations you are willing to accept establish the boundaries of your existence.
Your perspective will determine if you will be overcome by your circumstances or overcome them.
Self-Mastery: Ownership
Until you own who you are, you will never become who you were meant to be.
If you don’t take ownership of who you are, you’ll never be able to become who you want to be.
If you want to become the expression of the best good that God created you for, you must take full ownership of your choices.
Self-Mastery: Energy
Most of our decisions are not between good and evil. Most are between stupid and intelligent.
In Galatians 5, jealousy and selfish ambition are on the same list as orgies and witchcraft.
Paul’s saying..Do not do what you want, because you trained yourself to want the wrong things.
Your Life is a relationship between consuming energy and projecting energy.
