One of the enjoyable experiences of moving to a new city is exploring all that the city has to offer. Austin has been nicknamed the “Third Coast” and Slackerwood due to its growing influence in the film industry. From October 20-27 Hollywood comes back to Austin for the Austin Film Festival. This year Johnny Depp, James Franco, James Lasseter from Disney/Pixar, Mira Sorvino, and many others are in town.
We have a couple of friends who have produced or directed films that will be shown this week. Today we plan to see An Ordinary Family (produced by Steve and Karen Markham), Monday night we plan to see Wes Cunningham in concert (download free music here), and Wednesday night we hope to see Sironia (directed by Brandon Dickerson).
