Rescued (notes & video)

I shared a variation of the Rescued talk last week at the Gateway Central Winter Series.

Catch a glimpse of our Gateway Central Winter Series and watch the message below:

Here is an overview of the message:

“Rescued” from Judges 17-18

The world needs a hero, and sometimes that’s you and me.

Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering towards destruction.”

Jude 1:23a “Snatch others from the fire and rescue them…”

What happens when you’re trying to be the hero, but you are the one needing to be rescued?

“There was no one to rescue them because they lived a long way from Sidon and had no relationship with anyone else.” – Judges 18:28

“Everything can look like failure in the middle.” Rosabeth Moss Kanter

We all face disappointment. Who we become depends on how we respond.

Choose hope even when you don’t feel like it.

Sometimes emotional damage can take as much time and effort to recover from as a physical injury does. Be patient and work (it) out.

“No man is a failure who has friends (unless his friends are failures).” – Stephen Colbert

“No man is a failure who has friends.” – Clarence from It’s a Wonderful Life
