The Good Friday Experience with Gateway Austin

The Good Friday Experience | April 6, come and go between 5 and 9 pm

If you are in or near Austin, come check out this powerful experience!

Here’s a description from the Gateway website:

“For those who know and follow Jesus, Good Friday presents a unique opportunity to connect at a deeper level to the meaning of Jesus’ death on the cross. This year, we’ve created a self-guided, multi-sensory experience in multiple venues across the McNeil campus in order to help connect hearts and minds to this profound event that occurred 2000 years ago. As you move from station to station, you’ll experience the sights, sounds, and passion of the day that Jesus was crucified and will also be given the opportunity to pray, reflect, and receive communion as part of your overall Good Friday experience. Come at your convenience between the hours of 5 and 9 pm, but be sure to allow yourself at least an hour. There will also be a couple of family friendly stations designed especially for parents with children ages 5 and over, as well as childcare for children 4 and under. The last drop off time for children will be at 7:10 pm and you must pick them up by 8 pm.

Another way to experience the significance of the season on your own is to take time each day to reflect on Jesus’ final week prior to His death and resurrection.

Holy Week Reflections | Download a PDF version
Each day  between Palm Sunday and Good Friday, read a passage following Jesus throughout the week. Several passages are listed for each topic, choose to read one or several. As you read, imagine yourself there, make observations, list questions, look for what stands out to you, listen to what God wants to say to you through His story.
