At Terra Nova, David Arcos, the Lead Artisan of Mosaic shared the following insights:
“We need to understand who we are. Too often we base who we are on what we do or who we date or what we have which all lead to disappointment.
Who are we? We are rulers. Genesis 1:26 We are created to rule and have dominion and responsibility over the rest of creation. Animals see us as rulers even when we don’t see it.
Who are we? We are scary to the enemy. We charge back! 1 Peter 5:9
Who are we? We are important. God actually answers our prayers!
Who are we? We are made in God’s likeness. We are a mirror of what God looks like. Instead of asking: ‘who am I?’ We should be asking God: ‘who are you?’
Jesus did not just die for us, He came to live for us – to demonstrate what it means to be fully human.
Personality – what we do.
Talents – how we do what we do.
Character – why we do what we do.
Don’t just live by what you do, but live by why you do.
Your greatest gift to the world is not what you create. Your greatest gift is your life.
James 1:21-25 Once we follow Jesus, He speaks to us from inside and He made sure His message for us was written down for us.
Sometimes we are handed something so heavy that we cannot hold it. There is a battle for our soul.
We need to learn from our past, but we don’t have to live in it.
You are a ruler and powerful and beautiful. You are worth the life of the Son of God. God didn’t send His greatest warrior or His most faithful servant. He sent His Son.
The best way to honor God is to give him our lives and become like Him in His character. Live based on who He is in us and through us.”
