Gateway South Campus is moving to Crockett High School on August 4th!
We will have new service times – 9:30am and 11am!
You and your friends and family will love the campus, the auditorium, the preschool, kids, and middle school areas plus we are at the corner of Manchaca and Stassney (just one mile South of Ben White Blvd) near Austin Community College, Strange Brew, and Garrison Park.
Join us at 9:45am or 11:30am at Covington Middle School every Sunday in July.
Also, keep July 23rd at 7pm open for our South Campus Vision Night with communion, worship, prayer, in our new location – Crockett High School!
The Miracle Story
We have had 5 1/2 great years at Covington Middle School, but the parking lot and kids areas have been filling up for awhile and we’ve moved to the cafeteria due to some of their electrical issues. We have been urgently looking for a place knowing that we would need to move to three services in the fall at Covington Middle School if we could not find somewhere else.
We have been searching all over South Austin for awhile now, and then a miracle happened.
Christina Burbank started coming to the Gateway Inspire Services on Sundays a couple of months ago and asked if we would ever consider moving to Crockett H.S. where she has been the Fine Arts Director for the past 5 years. Ironically, Crockett H.S. was one of our original sites we had hoped to use when we were considering a location 6 years ago, but it was not available then.
After Christina’s invitation, we heard that one of the Vice Principals at Crockett (Shawn Bailey) has been part of Gateway for about 8 years! Christina and Shawn talked to the principal, and Mr. Shapiro was all for our move to their campus. Much like Covington M.S., Crockett H.S. has been led well these past several years and has seen dramatic improvements in graduation rates and student achievement. It is a real turnaround story!
We are still looking for a space we could rent 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for recovery groups, youth group, worship nights, a food pantry, and so much more. You can discover more and get involved at www.lifegivinglife.com.
At Crockett H.S. we are right in the middle of South Austin and just 1 mile South of Ben White Blvd.! It is a great place to bring friends, neighbors, and family! It is a fantastic corner location with lots and lots of parking!
