Human Planet: A Review

My family and I just watched the entire series Human Planet on Netflix. Humanity’s ability to adapt to extreme environments was fascinating! The visuals in this series really captured the essence of the struggle and victory for those living in the deserts, along rivers, or in the cities.

Some of our favorite moments included seeing the bats in Austin in the episode about cities, seeing the ocean village, or the way birds would guide people to find honey in exchange for some of the delicious treasure.

For those who want to know: some of the tribes go without clothes, and some of the cultural practices are more PG-13 for some of the tribes featured. You also see what it is like to hunt and eat in the real world.

My biggest takeaway: we have the God-given capacity for creativity and ingenuity to adapt.

What crisis or obstacle do you face that could be overcome if you looked at the situation from a new perspective?

From the BBC website:

“Uniquely in the animal kingdom, humans have managed to adapt and thrive in every environment on Earth. Each episode takes you to the extremes of our planet: the arctic, mountains, oceans, jungles, grasslands, deserts, rivers and even the urban jungle. Here you will meet people who survive by building complex, exciting and often mutually beneficial relationships with their animal neighbours and the hostile elements of the natural world.:
