If people who saw Jesus alive, after his crucifixion struggled with doubts, there’s no need to worry when we have doubts!
There is a great deal of proof concerning the resurrection of Jesus.
Even still, with all the evidence out there, following Jesus still requires a step of faith! All relationships require a step of faith.
For me, the greatest evidence has been my own experience with Jesus.
If you have doubts, lean into those doubts. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and to give you peace in your journey.
If you know He’s alive, help others in your life discover this too.

Message Notes:
In Luke 24, angels appear to the women letting them know that Jesus fulfilled what he promised he came to do. He willingly gave his life and his now risen from the dead!
In their culture, a woman’s word was not seen as trustworthy, but in the kingdom of God, a woman’s word is just as valuable as a man – as women were the first to proclaim that “Jesus is alive!”
There’s a remarkable story of two disciples of Jesus, who were not able to recognize him as they walked along the road, but Jesus shows them how the Messiah is written about all throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. They were then able to recognize him. They shared with the others “Jesus is alive!”
Then Jesus shows up among many of his disciples, and it says they were still doubting!
Jesus reminds them of his mission, and gives them their mission – to let the world know that he is alive, but first, they must wait on the Holy Spirit, who would come during Pentecost. This remarkable story is written about in Luke’s second volume, called the book of acts.
If people who saw Jesus alive, after his crucifixion struggled with doubts, there’s no need to worry when we have doubts! There is a great deal of proof concerning the resurrection of Jesus. I highly recommend books by Sean and Josh McDowell, J. Werner Wallace, Mary Jo Sharp, and Lisa Fields Just to name a few…
There is lots of evidence such as the remarkable transformation of those who abandoned Jesus who were then willing to die proclaiming they saw Jesus’ alive! There are the four Gospel accounts and the transformations in the lives of people who encountered Jesus after his death – whether in those 40 days before his ascension or even after that like the man named Saul who became Paul, the church planter and author of most of the letters in our New Testament. The prophecies!
Even still, with all the evidence out there, following Jesus still requires a step of faith!
All relationships require a step of faith.
For me, the greatest evidence has been my own experience with Jesus. I’ve not seen a vision of him, nor heard an audible voice, but since I’ve surrendered my life to follow him, I’ve seen Him at work in me and around me.
If you have doubts, lean into those doubts. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and to give you peace in your journey as you discover more and more how He is alive in the world around you and can be alive in you when you choose to follow Him!
If you know He’s alive, help others in your life discover this too.
