Acts 19 tells the story of Paul’s ministry in the city of Ephesus. Paul arrives in Ephesus and encounters some disciples who had only received the baptism of John the Baptist and were not yet aware of the Holy Spirit. Paul explains to them the full message of Jesus and baptizes them in the name of Jesus. As they are baptized, the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they begin speaking in tongues and prophesying.

Paul then goes to the local synagogue and boldly proclaims the message of Jesus. However, after facing opposition and resistance from some, Paul decides to move to the lecture hall of Tyrannus, where he continues teaching about the kingdom of God for two years. During this time, God works through Paul to perform many miracles, and people bring handkerchiefs and aprons from his body to the sick, who are then healed.

The chapter also recounts a significant incident involving some Jewish exorcists who attempt to cast out evil spirits in the name of Jesus, using Paul’s name as well. However, the evil spirit recognizes their lack of authority and overpowers them, causing them to flee in fear. This event causes many in Ephesus to fear the name of Jesus and the power of God.
