Paul focuses on the need for mutual encouragement, the example of Christ’s humility, and extending the message of Jesus to the Gentiles. He calls strong believers to bear with the failings of the weak and seek to build them up and encourages those who follow Jesus to live in harmony with one another, imitating Christ’s example of selflessness and humility.
Paul reminds those who follow Jesus that the Scriptures are God’s promises and sources of hope, encouragement, and unity.
He also explains that he has been appointed by God as an apostle to the Gentiles and expresses his desire to bring the message of Christ to those who have not yet heard. Paul encourages the Roman believers to join him in his mission, both in prayer and financially.
Paul concludes the chapter by expressing his plans to visit Rome one day and hopes to continue with their help to go to Spain.
