Paul expresses gratitude for the Corinthians’ faith in Jesus and encourages them that they have been enriched with spiritual gifts and are not lacking in any spiritual blessing and holy in Jesus.
Unfortunately, the Corinthians were divided by following different leaders and boasting about human wisdom.
Paul highlights that the message of the cross of Christ is the power and wisdom of God, even though it may seem foolish to the world, but God’s ways often go beyond human understanding.
Paul reminds the Corinthians that not many of them were wise, influential, or of noble birth when they became followers of Christ. God chose the weak and foolish things of the world to shame the strong and wise. This is to ensure that all glory and boasting are directed toward God rather than human accomplishments.
He urges them to be united in the name of Jesus Christ.
