In this video, author and theologian Professor Wright participates in a Q&A with the Innovative Church Leaders cohort. They explore the profound themes of his work, N.T. Wright's Surprised by Hope and God's Homecoming. He delves into the complexities of the ”return of Jesus” and its implications for our present lives.
Professor Wright emphasizes the importance of ”understanding the kingdom of God” as a present reality, not just a future hope. He argues that the church's mission is to embody this kingdom now, reflecting on ”what is the new heaven and new earth” and how it shapes our actions today.
The discussion highlights how ”N.T. Wright Surprised by Hope” challenges traditional views, urging believers to actively participate in God's work. The ”return of Jesus” is not merely an end-time event but a call to action in the here and now.
Understanding the kingdom of God involves recognizing Jesus' reign and our role in it. This perspective shifts the focus from waiting for ”what is the new heaven and new earth” to actively building it through justice and compassion.Professor Wright's insights encourage a transformative approach to faith.
The ”return of Jesus” inspires believers to live out the Kingdom's values, anticipating ”what is the new heaven and new earth” in our daily lives.

The Bible has been the most influential book in history, but it has also been misunderstood, misinterpreted, and even used for the agenda of people who did not have the heart of God or were a product of their times.
Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey or what doubts you might have, I believe God will reveal Himself to you.
So join me in an experiment!
1. Pray: “God, if you are real, show me who you are.” Or “God, I need help to believe in you.”
2. Read one chapter.
3. Listen to the podcast of that chapter.
4. Journal what you sense God is showing you.
Hebrews 1 – Do You Realize Jesus’ Superiority?
The author of Hebrews was writing followers of Jesus who were facing tremendous persecution. He or she wanted to remind them why following Jesus was worth the suffering.
Jesus is the heir of all things, and the Creator of all things. “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” Hebrews 1:2-3 NIV
The author of Hebrews then quotes several passages from the Hebrew Scriptures which emphasize the uniqueness of Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God, the One ruling over heaven and earth. We also discover that angels worship him, and “all angels [are] ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation” Hebrews 1:14 NIV
