Getting Unstuck: Aligning Your Vision, Strategy, and Team with Tony Morgan

In this episode, I wanted to share an interview from 7 years ago with the late Tony Morgan that is still relevant for church leaders today.

We dive into the challenges and strategies for maintaining a healthy church, emphasizing the importance of sustaining an outward focus and creating intentional ministry environments. Tony shares valuable insights from his book, The Unstuck Church: Equipping Churches to Experience Sustained Health, detailing the church lifecycle and how congregations can avoid plateauing or declining. Practical advice on leadership development, multisite strategies, and effective Sunday morning experiences offers actionable steps for church leaders.

We will miss Tony. He was a remarkable strategist, connector, and Kingdom influencer.

Women as Elders in a Church?

When we helped plant a church in Seattle in the mid 1990s, we had women serving as elders. Having grown up as Southern Baptist, I had not been a part of a church with elders much less women serving as spiritual overseers.

I have written about a biblical approach to women in leadership in the past, but I wanted to share 4 lectures on the subject from Tyler Staton of Bridgetown Church in Portland.

Watch and listen with an open heart and mind, and I think you will begin to see how the Scriptures actually lift up and empower women rather than denigrate or limit them.
