Whether you have been following God for a long time or you aren’t sure about God, I want to invite you to read through the New Testament with an open heart and open mind over the course of the next year!
Just one chapter a day, five days a week.
Here’s the plan each day:
Pray: “God, show me who you are and who you want me to be.”
Read the chapter.
Watch the video corresponding to that chapter.
Write down in your journal what you discover and how to live it out.
Our ministry Gateway in Austin included some remarkable opportunities from a healthy and beautiful transition from John Burke to Carlos Ortiz, Jr. as senior pastor to a trip to see the remarkable work of Impact India 360 to a sabbatical to seeing transformation in the hearts of South Austinites and folks connecting to our online campus, there have been many things to be thankful for in 2023!

Recently I interviewed long time friend Robb Overholt. Robb is a writer, speaker, musician, and iconoclast hailing from Coastal Virginia, USA. He lives with the disease Multiple Sclerosis and continues to fight in spite of disability.
Robb’s new book is an authentic and raw look into the challenges of life and how to work through them with a God who gives the “assurance of with” rather than the “assurance of why.”

In this episode, I interviewed Dr. Tim Yee, a longtime pastor, executive coach, and Vice President of Ministry and Mission at Motivations AI which has a fascinating assessment offered to churches through the TruCenter.
“TruCenter strengthens connections to the church and increases volunteer engagement by connecting God-given talents and personal motivations with faith and service. The only narrative-based assessment rooted in faith, backed by science, and powered by story”

In my most recent episode, I interview Tory Mayo who serves as the Lead Pastor at The Well in East Austin. The Well has a church planting church model.
From their website:
“Tory is originally from Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, he moved to Austin to pursue an incredibly beautiful and godly woman, Natalie, who is now his wife! Together they have four daughters: Michaiah, Kyria, Jada, and Eliyah.
After working for a church in Northwest Austin for 4 years, Tory and Natalie felt called to plant The Well. Tory hopes The Well is pivotal in planting 100s of churches, sending 100s of missionaries, and making much of Jesus in this great city! Tory is passionate about pursuing Jesus, discipleship, the Bible, cappuccinos, and sports (Go Blue!). Tory graduated with his Master’s in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. Tory’s main goal in life is to be a solid husband, a loving father, and to disciple as many men as possible for the glory of God!”
