Today, Debbie and I enjoyed a great time at Disneyland w/ a lot of our Mosaic leaders. We serve along some great people doing great things! In fact we closed the offices today as a small “thank you” to our team for their efforts this spring, at Easter, and for the Origins Project event. We also discovered some of our leaders scream like little kids on the rides!
When we were on the Indiana Jones ride, Debbie was sitting in the “driver’s seat.” A little boy behind us asked her: “Are you the driver? I don’t like to go too fast.” 🙂
By the way, have you seen the picture of Mickey Mouse’s hand without his glove? In an attempt to “humanize” Mickey at Disneyland in Paris, they have been using the poster below.
Personally, I am more freaked out by this four-finger “mouse” hand than compelled to go to Disneyland Paris. Honestly, I would have rather not known what was under his gloves.
That is a creepy picture. Put the glove back on, Mickey!

They aren’t tyring to unglove mickey. They are making a play on cartoon hands, his in this case, and someone who visited. Miclkey’s arms are black last time I checked.
I think you are right, Peter. Your explanation makes more sense than the ones I read. Mickey’s arms are black and surely his hands don’t look like a 5 year old boy’s. Either way, the pic is creepy to me!
Here is one of the sites I found this pic and explanaton: http://lancerlord.blogspot.com/2009/06/of-disneyland-paris-ungloves-mickey.html
When I was much younger, I was a cast member at the Disneyland (that’s what they called all the underpaid labor). Backstage was where we went when not working onstage (in the park). There I beheld in all it’s magical Kingdom goodness, Mickey (who was a girl) without her headgear (and gloves) smoking a cigarette; talk about train wrecking an image. Mickey Mouse has never appeared the same since.
err…uncomfortable…between the poster and Mickey (the girl) smoking back stage…rethinking the visit to the Magic Kingdom. Sounds like you had great fun. Great that you reward volunteer leaders that way!
