I first met Hannah around 10 years ago. She started driving all the way from Elgin to volunteer singing with us at Gateway South Austin when we met in Crockett High School. From the very beginning, her love for Jesus and her voice were so beautiful and so evident.
Eventually, she went through our Leadership Development Program and shined. I asked her to serve as the interim creative arts director which she did so well and for far longer than either of us would have wanted. She turned down other opportunities before we finally were able to offer her the position. Not only did she do an amazing job in her role, eventually 3 of the people on her team became worship leaders at 3 of our campuses – her brother Aaron, Ben Petree, and Tara Petree! She became one of our pastors and even oversaw all of our worship leaders.
Hannah’s heart for Jesus and for people has been so inspiring and such a wonderful part of our team.
Recently, God spoke to her so clearly that her time to step down from staff was His next step for her.
